The Blossoms among the Brambles

By Amanda Rispin

This poem is dedicated to our friend Philip Mc Nally. I created this poem and artwork to emulate the trials and tribulations that life throws our way. Overwhelming and difficult as these experiences are, patience, time and a will to overcome, ensures that life will always find a way. I believe strongly in the power of positive affirmations and have included them here in this piece of poetry to offer daily support to those going through difficult times.

All funds for every framed print sold will go directly to Philip’s Fundraiser.

Update from Philip’s Fiancee Saidhbe:

“As many of you already know, on April 6th, Philip and his friend Hugh were in a severe accident in Mondello.

Despite suffering life-changing injuries, they have fought for their lives with a strength and determination that has blown everyone away. Philip genuinely struggled to survive for the first few weeks in ICU as he amazed all the medical staff with his will to live and stubbornness to thrive. He is amazing.

Every day Philip is progressing and getting stronger, and we are embracing it all together one day at a time.

It’s been a very challenging 14 weeks, in every way, for Philip and his family but if you know Philip, you know he loves a good challenge, and he has faced every day with a strength and courage that got him to where he is today, in the National Rehabilitation Hospital.

He is over the first hurdle of recovering from his injuries and is on to the next…rehabilitating so that he can come home, where he belongs and to his new life.
Being home highlighted how much work is needed to modify and adapt our house to Philips wheelchair.

Philip is already surpassing all the goals set for him in the hospital (no surprises there), which means he may get home sooner than expected.
As you can imagine, the work needed in the house incurs significant expenses.

We have reached 22% of our GoFundme goal and hope that you can continue to share to the Philip McNally Fundraiser so we can reach our goal.

We would also like to thank the fantastic staff at the NRH. They have made this next hurdle so much easier with their excellent care, positivity, and community.
Not forgetting the staff the staff at the Mater Hospital, who helped to get Philip to the NRH.

We would not be here without any of you and will be forever grateful for every one of you.”

The above information about Philip and his recovery was updated and is correct as of 25/07/2019. I will continue to update this page as and when new posts are posted through his Fiancee Saidhbe, Family and Friends social pages.
